9 months

LB turned 9 months old on the 15th. It has been so amazing watching him grow. I just love him so much!
I wrote his 9 month letter the day before he turned 9 months, as I have with the other letters. Here it is.

Dear Sweet Boy,

Tomorrow you will be 9 months old. I just put you to bed, and you threw the biggest tantrum ever!! I think you fought sleep for at least an hour. Lately you have just not wanted to go to bed or sleep all night. I'm sure one of these days, probably when you are reading this, I will be having to drag you out of bed.
9 months old seems so crazy to me. It sounds so much older than 8 months. You are getting really big. Tomorrow we find out just how much you have grown. I can't wait to see. You have learned so much since the last letter I wrote you. You started crawling, you learned how to sit, you started pulling up on things, and you are cruising now. You have taken a step too. You want to walk so bad. I'm sure it will happen very soon. You are so jealous of your cousin Finn and all of the walking he does. I have a feeling you two will be best friends one day.
We had our first Mother's Day yesterday. You got me a sweet card. Thank you! I'm so blessed and lucky to be your mom. You are just the sweetest and cutest baby in the world. Everyone else seems to agree too. They just can not get enough of you. You have chubby cheeks and fat thighs, and you still have the most amazing, blue, sparkly eyes. Your smile is one in a million. You are very ticklish and love it when mommy and daddy tickle you. You just scream and laugh. Your laugh is just too cute. You have said mama, but only when you are fussing. It is really precious though and makes me smile. You love to talk and scream.
You are seriously wearing your daddy and I out. You are just so curious about everything. You want to go everywhere in the house non-stop, and you usually want to go to the places we don't want you in, haha. It really is amazing watching you explore and learn. You get the biggest and most curious eyes when you see something new.
You are just in love with our cat Terk. Every time she comes around you get the biggest smile and crawl very fast towards her. You pull her tail and fur, and her paws and ears, and well…she doesn't exactly like it. She loves you though. She always stays close by you, even if you drive her crazy. It is so sweet watching you two.
You are getting so heavy!!! Also, you have become a major turd during diaper changes. You constantly want to turn over and sit up and move around. We have to give you a toy to play with so that we can distract you or it is nearly impossible to change you, haha. You are constantly on the go!
You are growing so fast, and it is bittersweet. I love watching you grow, but it seems to go too fast. I love cuddling you and rocking you to sleep, and I know before you know it, you won't want that anymore. I love you so much, and being your mom is my greatest accomplishment in life. You and your daddy make me the happiest girl in the world.

                                                                                    Love,
                                                                                                Mommy

Here is a sweet picture of us last week!

Here he is at his 9 month check-up. He was 18 lbs and 27 3/4 inches!!

I am truly blessed. There are definitely days that are hard. Especially the days where I am by myself and hubby is at work. I manage though, and his sweet smile makes each task easier. It is hard on my body but it is all worth it. I love being his mommy!!

Before I Was A Mom

I saw this posted on my mommy blog board:

"Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.... Thank God He blessed me to be a mom with my wonderful precious child."

I am so proud to be a mom. It is the most wonderful experience in the world.
